Game Reveals
Sony unveiled a stunning array of new game reveals, with exclusive titles and groundbreaking gameplay.
Ghost of Yōtei
The biggest reveal of the State of Play was a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima titled Ghost of Yōtei a PS5-exclusive RPG set in a new region. Ghost of Yōtei embers on a new journey starring, Atsu, a female lead. With breathtaking visuals and an immersive narrative set in 300 years past Ghost of Tsushima, the game will be released in 2025.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Another highlight of the night was the announcement regarding Horizon Zero Dawn’s remaster for the PS5. With updated graphics, better frame rates, mocap, and over 10 hours of re-recorded conversation, this edition will allow newcomers and returning players to experience Aloy’s adventure in a new light. The remaster launches on October 31 on PS5 and PC.
Astro Bot DLC
PS5’s original platformer Astro Bot is getting a free DLC this fall. Nicholas Doucet, the studio head of team Asobi also said that the DLC will introduce five new speedrun levels. Aside from these levels, the update will also include 10 special bots to rescue. This free expansion aims to provide players with fresh challenges and content, enhancing the already beloved Astro Bot experience.
Alan Wake 2: The Lake House Expansion
Remedy Entertainment unveiled the lake house expansion for Alan Wake 2. Get ready to immerse yourself into eerie environments, new narrative elements, and even more terrifying encounters as the expansion blurs the line between reality and horror. The Lake House expansion is set to launch in October 2024 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Marking the latest entry in the beloved Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on February 28, 2005, coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Hell Is Us
We got our very first look at the gameplay of Hell Is Us, a highly anticipated action-adventure game for the PS5. The trailer showcased the game’s eerie, soulslike vibe, featuring sword combat. The exact release date for Hell Is Us hasn’t been revealed yet but it has been confirmed that the game will also be available on Xbox Series X|S consoles.
The Midnight Walk
Moonhood, the talented developers behind Lost in Random comes The Midnight Walk. Prepare to enter a visually stunning clay-crafted dark fantasy world. The game is set to release in Spring 2025.

Metro Awakening VR

The newest entry in the ArchAge series, ArchAge Chronicles was showcased in the State of Play. Gamers will dive into a medieval world with a rich narrative, vast exploration, and a promising soulslike game across the land of Auroria. This action-packed RPG is slated to launch on PS5 in 2025.
Palworld
Gamers can now dive into the world of Palworld on their PS5. It has officially come to PlayStation.
LEGO Horizon Adventures
On November 14, Aloy returns to the PS5 with LEGO Horizon Adventures, with preorders starting from October 3.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Dynasty Warriors: Origins the latest hack-and-slash from Koei Temco comes to PS5 on January 17, 2025.
Fortnite
This October players will be able to play LEGO Fortnite in a split-screen mode which enables players to explore the world with friends and family. The State of Play also revealed that players will be able to purchase a limited edition DualSense wireless controller that features Fishstick and Peely.
Lunar Remastered Collection
It is officially announced that the Lunar games are getting a remastered collection in Spring 2025.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 will be getting a remaster to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series. The studio announced that the remaster is set to launch on December 10 for PS5 and PS4.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge
Gamers can now download the new DLC of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge for free which is already out!

Even though the games were the highlights of the show, Sony’s State of Play September 2024 event brought exciting news for the fans with the announcement of the PS5 Pro and a brand new color lineup under the Chroma Collection.
PlayStation Plus Announcements
State of Play also packed in some exciting announcements with what’s coming on Sony’s Playstation Plus offerings. Starting October 1, 2024, WWE 2K24, Dead Space, and Doki Doki Literature Club will be available for all PlayStation Plus members.
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will be able to enjoy Dino Crisis and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain a pair of original PlayStation fan favorites as they join the game catalog later this year. The 2013 GOTY winner The Last of Us Part 1 also became available to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members on September 26.

PS5 Pro: Power Meets Precision

Pre-orders start from October 3, 2024, with Chroma Pearl and Chroma Indigo launching in November and the third following in January 2025.
